Prayer for healing: "God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, my 'conscious-will' self consents to your presence and action within me. You tell me to bring my prayer requests to you with a spirit of thanksgiving, and then your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard my heart and mind in you. Since you mysteriously cause all things to work together for my good, I choose to trust you, and not to believe the 'old' self's constant desire to want to know why things have, or are, happening the way they are. I proclaim, like Mary, "Your will be done". And since it is being done, my 'conscious will' self chooses to give thanks in all circumstances. I know that sometimes, like in the Book of Genesis with Joseph, I may be a recipient of evil, and yet somehow, some way, you're able to bring good out of it. I choose to walk by 'faith' in you, and not by what I 'see' happening around me. Help me to manifest your 'fruits' in my thoughts, words and actions. It's very healing and liberating to know, that as a Christian, thoughts & feelings are totally meaningless, until I first make the conscious effort to assess them for truthfulness according to Your Word, and g-e-n-t-l-y refute those that are not, with your Truth. I know the 'old/false' self loves to conjure up thoughts and feelings of fear and worry. However, my 'new/true' self, my REAL identity, doesn't worry about my life, my body, or tomorrow . . . . for you're providing for all my needs according to your glorious riches. Continue to help me in my 'transformation by the renewal of my mind' journey. Thank you for the truth that there is nothing that can ever separate me from your love and mercy. As the purchaser of my being, thank You for taking all the 'normal' cares and anxieties of the 'old' self. When I come to You in stillness, silence, and solitude, You give me rest. I know that when I experience a ‘thorn in the flesh’, your grace is sufficient for me, for your power is being made perfect in me. You never allow me to be tempted beyond my ability to resist, for I can do all things THROUGH YOU, that gives me the power. After I've suffered a little while, you will restore me and make me strong, firm, and steadfast. Like the Apostle Paul, I know that when my body does things that I did not want it to do, it wasn't the real 'me/new/true' self that did it, it was the 'old/false' self that did it. So, I'm never condemned by You. However, Your Word says that I'm not to use this new freedom as an excuse to satisfy the desires of the 'old' self, but, to strive to serve one another in love. Since you'll never leave or forsake me, I say with confidence, You're my Helper, I'm not afraid, there is nothing man can do to me. You're my Shepherd, I do not want. Greater are You that lives within me, than he that lives in the world.
Thank you for Your Word, that has set me free.
